Oophorectomy

We offer surgical removal of the ovaries as an alternative to monthly hormone injections (Goserelin), for women who need it as part of their breast cancer treatment. The tubes connected to the ovaries are also removed, and the operation is performed as key-hole surgery.

This can also be offered as a risk-reducing operation to women at high risk of ovarian cancer.

Vascular Access for Chemotherapy

For those women requiring chemotherapy we can arrange the surgical insertion, (and later removal), of a device called Infusaport. This is placed under the skin of the chest wall for easy access, and connected to the large veins leading to the heart.

Male Breast Surgery/Gynaecomastia

Gynaecomastia is enlargement of the male breast. We perform a full assessment and consider all treatment options, from non-surgical treatments to corrective surgery. When required, surgery involves excision of the excess of breast tissue, usually carried out through a skin incision around the areola, or liposuction, or a combination of both.
