You will need to bring with you a referral letter from your GP or Specialist, as well as copies of any X-rays, scans, or other test results that you may have had. Sometimes your GP or Specialist may have already sent through a referral and/or test results, so if you know this is the case please do not worry about bringing other copies. Before your appointment we will also send you a Form with basic questions to book you into our clinic; we will ask you to complete this and send it to us before you come to see us.

Once your appointment is booked please feel free to either come by yourself or, if you prefer, bring one or two family members and/or friends with you.

All our fees are in line with the Australia Medical Association (AMA) recommended fee schedule. Our initial consultation fee is $220. With a referral letter, you will get a Medicare rebate of $76.80. A subsequent consultation within 12 months will cost $130, and the Medicare rebate is $38.25. There is no fee for the first clinic consultation after an operation.

Dr Jose is No Gap provider for cancer procedures with most health funds. For non-cancer procedures, and/or with certain health funds there may be an out-of-pocket expense (The Gap). If you need an operation, a comprehensive fee statement of surgical costs will be provided to you and discussed with you prior to your operation.

There may be other costs associated with your care. These may include hospital fees and fees charged by other specialists, as well as costs associated with implants or prosthesis, radiology or pathology tests, and prescribed medication costs. You may need to check with your health fund what other out-of-pocket expenses you may incur for these additional costs of your care.
